2007's Christmas didn't have any snow, but it still felt like Christmas in Sweden : )

Then "Santa" comes. In my family, my little sister is usually forced (and bribed) to be Santa and she does it well. This year we had two Santas. It was interesting. Santa usually hands out one gift each to all the children (and me, because my mom still thinks I'm little, hihi) after that he takes off again and the person who was "missing" while Santa was there comes back into the room and acts disappointed. No one in my family believes in Santa anymore, but we still do it every year since it's tradition : )

You have to eat a lot. Eat, eat, eat, eat. And you eat in a special order so it's raw fish and potatoes first, which is my favorite and the only thing I eat during christmas, then you eat sausages and meatballs. All with potatoes. There's no rice or spaghetti on Christmas eve. During the dinner we talk about various things, stupid things mostly, sometimes we discuss whether the hen or the egg actually came first. The reason behind this is of course caused by another Swedish tradition which is called "Snaps". About 5 - 7 times (more the latter than the first) you stop eating and you make a toast, a toast in which you sing you don't hold a speech, and afterwards you empty your little shot that you have right next to your drink. Swedish people aren't that easilly intoxicated by alcohol but after about 4 of those things just go down, haha. Oh boy.

Holidays in Sweden vol.2 - Christmas -

Everyone has to come for christmas. Everyone. Doesn't care where you live. Me for instance, I am fully parked in Tokyo, Japan but still I flew a 13 hours long flight to Sweden just because that's what we do. So for christmas we have my family, which is the base, we are 3 children and 2 parents. Now each of us don't have the same father which means we all come with our own set of grandfathers and grandmothers, uncles and ants with cousins. Now lately as my father got married, half of the party is held at his house so from morning until 230 PM I thrive in my dad's house, eating candy before christmas lunch and playing videogames. At 3 PM though I have to make sure I am parked on the couch at my mother's house. At 3 PM every christmas eve the same channel airs a show of "Donald Duck". Now this little cartoon is the same every year, yet we watch it every year, because it is tradition. And it is hilarious. After that we eat...
